Every parent knows just what I mean
From a toddler to a teen
Trapped in the cult of the glowing screen
I believe in a joystick controller
I believe in the pixels I see

I’ll beat all the levels and stand before thee
They never get too far away from their Game Boy
Never step into the warm light of day
Never can quite break away from their console
They don’t even know how to go out and play
They’ll stare at a screen until two in the morning
Maybe I’m lucky it’s only that long
Kids in Japan have to suffer from seizures
